Lenape Park

130 Kenilworth Blvd, Cranford, NJ 07016

This 450-acre wildlife reserve and park is part of the Rahway River Parkway, and features bike trails and jogging paths. This is a great park to visit in the fall as the flora and fauna are at their peak, and you can enjoy birdwatching as well as fishing and boating in Lenape Lake. It is also home to the Miller-Cory House Museum, where you can enjoy a variety of events, including Colonial living experiences!

Watchung Reservation

Historic Trail, Mountainside, NJ 07092

The largest nature reserve in Union County, this 2,000-acre preserve features numerous trails as well as the Trailside Nature & Science Center. Whether you like to hike or go on horseback, you can enjoy the colorful autumn foliage as you explore the trails and loops.

Oak Ridge Park

201 Oak Ridge Road Clark, NJ 07066

This 90-acre park features running and biking paths as well as an archery range and disc golf course. It is also home to the Homestead Farm, a historic house and grounds listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Warinanco Park

Roselle, NJ 07036

A 204-acre park in Roselle, it was designed in 1923 by famous landscape design firm, the Olmsted Brothers (the same firm who designed New York's Central Park). The park features a 400-meter athletic track as well as Warinanco Lake, where you can enjoy riding paddleboats from the Warinanco boathouse.

Echo Lake Park

Park Drive, Mountainside, NJ 07101

Located in Mountainside, this park features a 5.6 kilometer loop trail popular for running and walking. Explore the park and enjoy scenic lake views perfect for snapping fall foliage photos, or go on a cozy picnic with your significant other.
