Westfield New Jersey History and Community Info
Homes for sale in Westfield offer a slice of small-town living just a short drive from the nation's most famous metropolitan center. One of the oldest and most comfortable cities in New Jersey, this area has long been a staple for people looking to simplify the way they approach life. With comfort and luxury available at almost every corner, Westfield offers new homes and old homes to suit virtually every lifestyle.
Westfield Real Estate: Community through the Years
Historically, Westfield was simply considered a township of the larger Elizabethtown area. It was settled as far back as the early 1700s, when a collection of buildings and homes sprang up to meet the needs of new settlers. The location of this original village now serves as the base for the downtown Westfield district, and many of the buildings retain their ties to the historic past.
Today, Westfield is a hub of boutiques, fine dining restaurants, quaint delis, and local shops. Much of the appeal of the town lies in this primarily small-business mindset, since everyone works together to embrace community in a way that appeals to multiple generations. In addition to the locally-owned shops, Westfield also boasts national chain stores. This combination of old and new is what Westfield is really all about: it takes the best aspects of yesterday and mixes them with the needs of a more modern population. And it works – the result is one of the top-rated communities in the United States, where old and young alike come together to enjoy all that life has to offer.
Working and Living in Westfield
Westfield real estate is particularly appealing to commuters who work in neighboring New York. Located just 25 miles to the southwest of the city, Westfield is at the center of Union County. In addition to train services out of Newark and the Parkway, city planners are developing a Westfield railroad tunnel that will provide a train service to the city. This will only increase the ease of commuting and provide more opportunities for those who want to combine small-town living with a more urban experience.
Added to the appeal of its location is Westfield's community-oriented feel. Many of the neighborhoods offering Westfield new homes for sale are placed in school districts renowned for their commitment to academics, athletics, and the arts. Community parks and activities entice those who enjoy getting to know their neighbors, and the municipal police and fire services are nationally ranked, making safety and security always at the top of the city's list of priorities.
Outdoor activities also abound in Westfield. In addition to local shops and farmer's markets, which open their doors to residents and visitors alike, music performances and community gatherings are common in the more seasonal months. Recreation activities are also a strong part of the area, with parks, bike paths, and sports fields dotting the landscape. Pools, jogging trails, and tennis courts round out the outdoor experience, encouraging home owners to enjoy the weather and the safety of this great town.
Westfield Homes for Sale
Westfield new homes are located in some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the entire state. Tree-lined streets and local parks add a touch of green and blooming beauty to the area, and most homes boast landscaping and exteriors that are right in keeping with the luxury of the natural setting. Older homes are also widely available, many of which appeal to historic preservationists and those seeking a way to enjoy all that Westfield has to offer on a more moderate budget.
It doesn't matter whether you're considering moving to the area for the first time or if you're returning home – Westfield real estate is one of the greatest purchases you can make.

Working With An Agent >Making Choices
Buying a home isn't easy. You may have a good idea of what you want and how much you want to spend, but your search produces a wide array of homes on the
market and a bewildering set of financing options.
As your real estate agent, their job is to minimize the confusion and help match you to the best home and loan for your needs and pocketbook. The agent will listen to your requirements and eliminate from consideration the properties that aren't suitable for you. If there is a gap between your taste and how much you feel comfortable spending, I can help you decide
where to compromise and can suggest financing plans to increase your buying power. When you have selected a home, your next step is to find a lender, a qualified structural inspector, and a termite inspector.
